How to add product in the WordPress

Adding a New Product

Step 1: Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard

  1. Go to your website’s admin URL (e.g., yourwebsite.com/wp-admin).

  2. Enter your username and password.

  3. Click Log In.

Step 2: Navigate to WooCommerce Products

  1. In the left-hand menu, hover over Products.

  2. Click Add New.

Step 3: Enter Product Details

  1. Product Name – Enter the name of your product.

  2. Product Description – Add a detailed description of the product.

Step 4: Choose Product Type

  1. Scroll down to the Product Data section.

  2. Select the product type:

    • Simple Product – A single item with no variations.

    • Variable Product – A product with multiple variations (e.g., different sizes or colors).

    • Grouped Product – A collection of related products sold together.

    • External/Affiliate Product – A product linked to another website.

Step 5: Set the Price

  1. Under the General tab in the Product Data section:

    • Enter the Regular price (standard price).

    • (Optional) Enter a Sale price if you want to offer a discount.

Step 6: Add Product Images

  1. Set Product Image – Click Set product image, upload or select an image from the media library.

  2. Add Product Gallery Images – Click Add product gallery images to upload additional images.

Step 7: Configure Inventory (Stock Management)

  1. Click on the Inventory tab.

  2. Enter the SKU (unique product identifier) if applicable.

  3. Check Manage stock? if you want to track inventory and set stock quantity.

  4. Select Stock status (In stock, Out of stock, or On backorder).

Step 8: Add Product Categories and Tags

  1. On the right-hand panel, select a Product Category or create a new one.

  2. (Optional) Add Product Tags to help customers find products easily.

Step 9: Configure Shipping

  1. Click on the Shipping tab.

  2. Enter product weight, dimensions, and shipping class (if applicable).

Step 10: Publish the Product

  1. Click Publish to make the product live on your website.
